Sharon joined SEFC in July 2008. She holds a BA and a MA from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a Msc. in Social Research Methods (Development Studies) from the London School of Economics, UK. Prior to joining SEFC, she worked for several years as an economic consultant at Analysis Group in Montreal. Her area of expertise was healthcare outcomes, economic litigation and anti-trust cases, with a strong focus on analytical aspects. More recently she was as a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore at their Centre for Public Policy. There she worked on a comparative study of Indian socio-economic surveys over the past thirty years as well as on trends in childhood poverty.

Preethi did her graduation in Commerce (University of Madras) and holds a PGDM (Finance and Marketing) from the Institute for Financial Management and Research, Chennai. The focus areas in PGDM were International Financial Management, Investment Management, Derivatives and Risk Management, Mergers & Acquisitions, Marketing of Financial Services and Marketing Research. She has joined SEFC in April 2006.

Arindam holds a BSc in Mathematics from University of Madras and an MSc in Economics from Anna University, Chennai. Before joining SEFC, he worked as an economic consultant at Nathan Associates (India). His focus areas were litigation economics and sports economics, with an added emphasis on analytics. His main interests are in applied microeconomics, statistical modeling and development economics, particularly in the areas of poverty mitigation and socio-economic impact analysis. He joined SEFC in August 2009.

Uma Joined SEFC in July 2010. She holds a Masters degree in Financial Economics from Madras School of Economics and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance from University of Madras. She interned with Fidelity Management and Research, Unifi Wealth Management and HDFC Bank. During her academics, she analyzed the time-varying behavior of systematic risk in the Indian market. She studied the financial services industry and the markets as part of her internships. Her interests include application of econometric modeling in finance and education. Uma is actively involved with Bhumi, a Chennai based non-profit organization, working for the holistic development of under-privileged children.

Matt holds a MA in Economics from the University of British Columbia as well as BS in Finance from NYU's Stern School of Business. Before joining SEFC in January 2011, he was the Manager of Program Finance and Evaluation for Aid to Artisans, an NGO focused on developing market opportunities for handicraft producers worldwide. Prior to that he worked on a USAID project in Jordan to implement training and market access programs for the stone and tile sector. He also has several years work experience as an analyst and trader in the economic consulting and real estate securities industries.

John holds a Masters degree from the Madras school of social work and Bachelors of Computer science from Madras university. He has been specialised in Community development in his Masters degree. He has worked in Tata Consultancy services in implementing Computer based functional literacy training program in Tamil nadu. Later he has worked in entrepreneurship development program of Bharatiya Yuva Shakthi trust under Confederation of Indian Industries. His major field work experience is in the development of Small and Micro Enterprises by credit linkages through public and private sector banks. His focus areas in development of entrepreneurs through funding, mentoring and training. John joined SEFC in June 2011.

Sumit holds a master’s degree in Rural Management (PGDRM) from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (Orissa) and a bachelor’s degree in B.Tech (Dairy Technology) from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal (Haryana). Prior to joining SEFC, he has worked with HDFC Bank Ltd at Mumbai & Delhi in the business development & product - proposal appraisal team of agro commodity finance division. He has also worked in manufacturing operations & quality control domain at Punjab Milk Federation, Ludhiana (Punjab). He comes with a cross functional and cross cultural experience of 7 years.
