An expert in corporate finance, entrepreneurship, and organizational economics, Schoar researches venture capital, entrepreneurial finance, corporate diversification and governance, and capital budgeting decisions in firms.
- Sendhil Mullainathan
Mullainathan is the recipient of a MacArthur ‘genius’ award and has conducted a randomized evaluation of racial bias in hiring in the US. He has also examined the impact of cash transfers to the elderly in South Africa. His fields of interest include corporate finance, development, economics and psychology and labor economics.
- Esther Duflo, PhD in Economics (MIT)
Duflo's work focuses on the evaluation of the efficacy of policies and initiatives of governments and non-governmental organizations in developing countries in the areas of education reform, political participation, within-family patterns of resource allocation, and healthcare delivery.
- Abhijit V Banerjee
Banerjee’s areas of research are development economics, the economics of financial markets, information theory, and the macroeconomics of developing countries. In 2001, he was the recipient of the Malcolm Adeshesiah Award, and was awarded the Mahalanobis Memorial Medal in 2000.
