The PGDM – D&SF is the perfect option for those who are as interested in contributing to society as they are in their own growth. Evolved through continuous research going on at IFMR and its various research centers, the PGDM-D&SF program is designed for increasing the reach and effectiveness of development initiatives through sustainable finance.
The program first makes students aware about the broader meaning of development and various theories associated with it.
The program combines classroom learning with live learning experiences in research projects undertaken at various specialized research centers set up at IFMR, such as the Centre for Development Finance, Centre for Microfinance and Centre for Insurance and Risk Management.
Students will also benefit from IFMR’s association with Banyan, an NGO focused on development. The recently established Banyan Academy of Leadership in Mental Health (BALM) offers short-term and long-term training programs to IFMR students and provides orientation to all first-year students at the time of joining.
The faculty for the PGDM-D&SF program includes scholars at IFMR research centers, development practitioners from NGOs and bankers involved in microfinance.
